Gentlemen of the Road: A Tale of Adventure
Chabon's adventure novel seems promising as he introduces his colorful heros - the hulking Abyssinian who wields a viking battle axe by the name of "Mother Defiler" and the pale, black-clad scarecrow of a European healer. Unfortunately, the quest fails to compel and the novel ends up being less than it might have been. [full review]
