He denotes a marked shift in our focus from futurism to presentism, and while upon first blush this sounds like a vast improvement - evoking the ideas of Eckhart Tolle and The Power of Now - Rushkoff points out that the now we are chasing in our Facebook updates and Twitter feeds is a moment that has just passed somewhere else.
