A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World

A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World - Tony Horwitz Gonzo-Historian Tony Horwitz travels from Newfoundland to the Dominican Republic in search of the truth behind our nation's founding. Vikings in Newfoundland in 1000 A.D. serve as an appetizer for this largely Spanish dish which might also have been titled, "Here come the Conquistadors -Over and Over Again to Massacre the Natives while Searching for Mythical Cities of Gold."

I learned a lot about Columbus and the Conquistadors, also the Huguenots; I really enjoyed the quirky characters that Horwitz met along the way; but well before the end of the book, I was pretty over it.
